Catherine Motosko, MD, FAAD, is a double board-certified dermatologist specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer treatment, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Known for combining technical precision with a thoughtful, patient-centered approach, Dr. Motosko is dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes while helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their care.
Education and Training
Dr. Motosko graduated from Duke University with degrees in Biology and Chemistry before earning her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, she completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami.
To further specialize in skin cancer treatment and advanced reconstructive techniques, Dr. Motosko completed a highly selective fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Dermatologic Oncology, and Reconstructive Surgery in Pittsburgh under the mentorship of internationally recognized Mohs surgeons Drs. John Zitelli and David Brodland. This advanced training focused on the comprehensive treatment of skin cancer using tissue-sparing techniques designed to maximize cure rates while preserving both function and appearance.
Academic Leadership
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Motosko has an extensive academic background and remains actively involved in advancing the field of dermatology. She has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific publications and textbook chapters and is a frequent invited speaker at local, regional, and national academic meetings. She also serves in leadership roles within organized dermatology and has contributed to advocacy and educational initiatives at the national level.
